Are calculators still needed with the adoption of smartphones?

Do you still own a calculator or do you just use an app on your phone?  If you have a calculator what advantages does it give you that you don't have on the phone or why you would not want to use your phone for when you need a calculator?

I don't have a calculator, but I don't use my phone for the purpose. I rarely need to do math away from home, and I use Excel or Calc on my computer at home all the time (especially to work out puzzles in the Q&A by Calculus-Geometry). However, I think few people need calculators. There are some exams where you can't take a phone in, and you will need a calculator - usually with limited functions. Also, specialty calculators - financial or advanced math - might go beyond SmartPhone app functions or be easier to use. I'm not sure.

I own several calculators including A TI-84 plus. The only way I will use a phone calculators is in a must use situation. I think most people don't even use 10% of the apps on their phones. Which keeps my friend and I laughing when we see people totally distracted with their heads bowed playing with the screens. Looks like they have their heads bowed in prayer worshiping the phone

I work from home, so I don't even have a cell phone of any kind. I must be one of a dying breed lol. I just don't need one!

I use the online calcs if necessary.
    Excellent question!
