In what ways will the definition of family change, evolve, and go into different directions within
the next 50-100 years?
I've given that some thought. I love the idea of the extended family, everyone under one roof (i know it is not problem free though). Then the nuclear family came into existence as we moved for work and industry took over.
I think we may be heading back to the extended family model with the economy so tenuous. I would be interested to know what you think.
I suspect that assuming the world as we know it still exists, rather a leap of faith.
Over population will have brought something like the Chinese rule of 1 child to be a world wide standard. There will be far less freedom given the requirement of living in such close proximity and what open areas that still exist will be relegated to maximum production of food. Most of it will be corporate farms run for maximum efficiency rather than quality.
Or the world will have gone through whatever catastrophes occur to bring the population to a much lower level and life will be more tribal centered on what areas are still capable of supporting small enclaves.
Any way you slice it the quality of life will be much lower for almost everyone.
