Why do we run behind the lavish pattern of life ?
An average status of living a life is sufficient to be alive. Truly, we help the needy persons is the milestone of life. But instead of living simple life, we try to live a lavish life. Why ? I don't know it. I need answer.
With the development of technology, luxury has become necessity. Take a small example of buying a phone, we start with 5000 and end up buying a phone of worth 20,000 or even. It is indeed possible to live contented and help others. It depends on one-self to to choose the way of living. It has nothing to do with the status of living.
Well said sadhavemit, your answer is well defined in the context of fast growing economic culture of the world. But apart from this, values whatever have been set earlier have some importance also. In my opinion, we should compare these values also.
-We've been fooled into believing that things make us happy.
-Related, we do not take the time to sort out what is going on inside of us- a I bored? angry? lonely? etc. and work through the issue- instead we distract ourselves with things. When the pain comes back, we bury it again in things.
-Related, we do not know God (Jehova) too well or at all- He is the only one who can meet all our needs. We resort to things again, that being mostly what we have (meaningful relationships with others seems harder to find and maintain.)
-We compare ourselves to others and if we do not have what they have, we judge ourselves to be failures, so we go out and get what they have.
These are some reasons.

Is it to say what you mean? Act out what you say? Then see if you can find out where you went wrong and go about trying to make things better. What have you seen what works?

Do you think that there's a meaning behind a dream?I vividly dreamed that I sold and gave away everything that I owned. Bought an old RV, and moved far away. What does this mean?
