If you asked your doctor to order a specific test, but it came out negative, is this bad?

Like for instance, a screening for kidney stones. A CT scan was ordered, but nothing was found. It was negative. Do you think that you wasted your doctors time?

Any time you feel that something is not functioning correctly in your body, going to the doctor and getting checked out is never a waste of time. It's better to know or catch a problem early, rather than not know and then when do find out the problem it's much worse and not easily corrected.

no, doctors are paid for their service. It is wise to get a full checkup to make sure what is your illness rather than regret later
