Liquorish.  Oh, and also the complete absence of colour.  All colour combined makes up white, i.e. white light. Absence of all colour is black, or cannot be seen.   Of course, just because blackness cannot be seen by our eyes does not mean that something is not there.  Whole spectrums of energy lie beneath and above the light spectrum.

....Did you expect a different type of answer?...   Are you attempting to cause some sort of ferore or controversy...or am I simply calling the kettle black?

I would add profit as to a healthy bottom line and calling the kettle black is appropriate.

The phrase, "black as pitch." The totality of nothingness.

Sexy or mysterious. I almost have to force myself to buy clothing in other colors. Countless times I find myself saying: "It's too bad this doesn't come in black."  Clearly black is my favorite color. LOL!
I'm also one of those people who loves to sleep in a "coffin dark" room. If I'm in a hotel room I'll spend 5-10 minutes covering up the light from the alarm clock/radio, laying a town down at the base of the door, and making sure the drapes are drawn shut as much as possible. Las Vegas hotel rooms are among the darkest!smile

      Are we related? LOL! smile
I meant to say I lay a towel down at the bottom of the hotel door.

The color some people use to spiritually rape others through magical manipulations

Ironically it's also the color referred to as being profitable. "Our business if finally in the black!" or during this time of year it's about bargain shopping on "Black Friday" smile A color just is. We add whatever meaning want to it.

If the sky didn't turn black the stars wouldn't shine!
Not many people hate black hair, pearl black cars look elegant, black tie affairs and the famous black cocktail dress are staples in our society. Every business wants to be in the black! smile
