Why do many people consider constant suffering & struggle superior to a life of luxury & ease?
There are people who maintain that life SHOULD involve suffering & struggle. They contend that suffering & struggle make people stronger. Really? They further assert that a life of luxury & ease makes people weaker. It is as if they have a consciousness of poverty & struggle while decrying a life of socioeconomic wealth, affluence & luxury.
Well from a Christians point of view . This is not the real life God meant us to have. When you think about . Is it fair that people on this side of the planet can not eat and be sheltered ?when on the other side of the planet they live in tents, and hunt for their food. While there is another side of the planet where they can barley eat bread . What is stricken with many diseases .
Like a family how can we be happy and well fed knowing one of our family members are suffering for the same needs.
We all live on this global earth. We are related in every since.
It is sad to see hunger, thirst, and disease in any man woman or child.
That is not God's will for humans or the human family.
His purpose was to have us live here on a paradise earth. Free of troubles,
Sickness and death,
God has always stood when it was his specified time. And he will again.
You claim that it's not "God's" will that bad things happen, yet if he is real, he knew all of this evil would happen and even provided the means to accomplish it. I don't believe in the Biblical Deity, but if he is real, he is a most cruel being.
Does that make you a cruel person when you notice a bridge has collapsed.
You go to warn people if they go to far down a certain road their is a life danger. You even tell them what the danger is a broken bridge . So the people say you are lying!
If I am the one responsible for collapsing the bridge (as God did with the world), then yes...I am a cruel person for allowing it to happen and allowing many people to fall off the bridge and die. If God is all-knowing, then HE is responsible.
No you clump The heavenly Farther with the doing of Satan's work. God gives life it is Satan who takes it away .and continues from the beginning of Adam and Eve. He has challenge his right to Rule. Now we see how Satan rules and blame God. Sad!
You don't understand cause and effect apparently. God created Satan, knowing full well what he would do. Yet God allowed it. Therefore, God is ultimately responsible for creating evil and allowing it to run it's course. This is an inescapable fact.
No that is not valid because we are free moral agents we can chose right and wrong.
example if you have a child and raise him to do what is right.is it your fault he uses his power to break laws when he is a full grown man
as true with Angles
Because they've never experienced "ease and luxury." Nuff said.
People are born into property so your belief is not valid to the many people all over the world who was born without a silver spoon in their mouth.
I believe that there are the wealthy they look down on the poor.and think they have won the prize?
I think that those who believe suffering and struggle to be the preferred way of life are primarily the religious type. They believe (without evidence) that their sufferings in this life will be rewarded in an afterlife. This effectively destroys their initiative to become affluent while at the same time giving them comfort in their poverty.
Maybe this is the main reason that religions evolved with mankind. Maybe poverty-oriented religions are a coping mechanism that helps us survive as a species.
It's true that struggles and challenges help you become a better problem solver and a better person, but to seek out a life of hardship is ludicrous.
There are limits in life that is against our survival ,like a baby we know he can not play with wall sockets, we know that our love is based on keeping him alive is based obedience .
Also as Adults what Job can you go to and do as you wish.
What is your point exactly? You're not being coherent.
My Point is law and order is needed for our life to continue to exist. That was the issue
man has had their days to prove rather they need a higher Authority to Rule them.where are we now
what are the visible results, the earth is a living titanic.
I disagree. Man has evolved and is learning how to make its way. We have no need to worship and obey an imaginary god. Mankind is not perfect, but we have improved our existance greatly.
That is not reality really , global warming, crime, wars, racism . Hatred.food shortages, marriages rapidly becoming divorces .death is everywhere, sickness , where is the improvement to wipe all these things they have caused on them self ?
All of these problems have always existed in some measure. To be accurate, there are less wars in the world, crime is decreasing in many places (USA), and many diseases have been reduced or cured. You need to get your facts straight.
No RB.That is the facts as truth and since we come into this world things are even worse . Man does not live long enough to accomplish or undo the damage he keeps adding on. We live these conditions everyday. That does not have to be proven.
You're facts are messed up, K&T. You will only believe what you want to. Your ignorance of the facts are typical of the average religious person. I can see I'm wasting my time with you.
Instead of assuming a religious angle, let's look at this question differently. Why DO people believe that struggle and suffering can make one stronger? There is a person's character, which is made better by exertion and work and made worse by indolence and entitlement. When do athletes post their best times? In competition. The connection here is NOT that we should all compete with each other but that when we are striving for a goal then we perform closer to our potential. Being forced to work hard and economize is not pleasant but it certainly can make you a better person. However, there are always exceptions to the rule so, of course, there will be individuals from the middle and lower economic classes who are lazy, of bad character, etc. and there are indeed individuals in the upper economic class of good character, hard working, etc. Having a lot of money is a huge responsibility and there is no reason that a person cannot find inside of themselves the strength to avoid the bad habits commonly associated with those of wealth. Conversely, having little money is not at all easy and, again, there is no reason that a person cannot find the strength to avoid the pitfalls of poverty.
NONE of these are easy but every person is born into different circumstances and every person can change themselves and their surroundings for the better or for the worse.
All injustice will be undone by the heavenly Father and even if that means a return from death as the resurrection hope is applied
The heavenly Father does not intervene based on the challenge Satan accused him of. Can humans rule them self . No!
KissandTales, to answer the question for a general society, one must put it in more general terms. Each person's religion is felt inside of themselves and practiced by them personally but not by everyone else precisely the same.
To pitzele. You are correct .to add it is a real relationship . Like in a family all members will love their parents. But each one in his own way and expression . That expression for me moves me to share the message of love and hope he extends to All

Why do most people see "Faith" as a point of weakness?Fear being, lack of faith and faith being lack of fear. To me, to have faith takes great courage.

This is what one would call inverse logic. There are people who value struggle. They believe that struggle is normative. They don't believe in a life which is without struggle. They deride people who have abundance & have it much easier than they do. They somehow...

Why there is poverty in specific people while others are well to do people? Who are responsible for poverty - the poor people themselves, Government policies or the system?
