My initial interpretation is that sometimes you meet with the greatest amount of opposition just before a break through, just before success which is the dawn.
Famous battles have begun either right on dawn or just before dawn. In 1918 a great battle involving Australian troops and I believe some Americans started at dawn and was a great success.
As for myself I have worked out in the open just before dawn. I can tell you that the coldest time to be out is just before dawn breaks. For that hour before dawn you really want to be rugged up. When dawn does break you feel the lessening of the cold.
