Why do the more conservative, dogmatic, fundamentalist, and/or fanatical religionist refuse to
see/respect/consider any other religious, spiritual,and/or ethical belief, ideology, and/or viewpoint other than his/her own?
Why did Jesus preach at all, why did he travel to give people good News of a better world to come. He new that satan would destroy, and cause pain and suffering, the message he traveled and gave had nothing to do with one name of religion, even though he was a Jew. I was a message of good will
That death had been conquered and that we all have a future to keep living.. there is a cure for all bad things that have happen us
That is for our benifit not God ,
The same reason any fanatic doesn't have respect for others with different beliefs; because they need validation. This goes for politics, religion/atheism, education, economics, etc. Some people just have that kind of personality that they want everyone to think like they do.
Some others know that the squeaky wheel gets the grease; meaning that loud talking fringe groups usually get more press, so they either are seeking attention for themselves or their cause. Either way, it turns people off, so in my view, it defeats the purpose.
I suspect you are right about the validation thing. But there are people who can and do listen to other viewpoints. They want to learn new things. But some people get so far and then just stop trying to learn.
Cause such people are idealists and think that only their religion is right and others should follow it too. They consider other religions as fake and as such consider its followers minors and blasphemers.
Because they are 'whitewashed tombs'; they confuse 'belief' with 'faith' and keep people from the love and compassion of God in the process...everything Jesus protested against.

Commonly, those people who call themselves conservative hold socialism and communism as being the end-state of liberalism. I would argue that there is nothing "liberal" about socialism and communism. Think about it, the fundamental engine behind both is the need for the...

Why Do Religious People Get So Angry At Atheists? When it comes to Atheism, most religious people get angry and even combative when it comes to this subject. I wonder why, especially in this day and age, one would feel anger towards another human being with a different perception/outlook/belief....
