How has American society devolve in terms of work ethic?  What are the ways that the American

work ethic has deteriorated in the 21st century?  Why makes so many people want to live the good life but refuse to expend the necessary effort & self-sacrifice to attain high socioeconomic success levels-wanting everything for nothing?

Over the last 60 plus years, the American might and power as a manufacturing leader has devolved to mediocrity. This is the result of the American industries being done cheaper in other countries, and with less taxing than here. So with the industry there has been a major loss of American Jobs.

Both the loyalty of the worker, and the company have deteriorated, and are on the verge of total collapse. The reason is the loss of industry jobs, and the use of the At Will Employment Contracts by the employers.

Neither of these are tacit s of loyalty. Many foreign workers have taken whatever jobs are left, and their loyalty is not to America.

What is in it for me, has replaced loyalty. This is justified by the actions of the super  conglomerates running the majority of businesses in the country. They continue to shrink the existing businesses through mergers and acquisitions that are followed by significant workforce downsizing.
