Do you believe that people CHOOSE adverse circumstances?  Do you also contend that people choose to be victims of their particular life circumstances?

I don't believe that most people consciously make this choice. As a spiritualist, however, I do believe in soul contracts that we make as spirits before we are born on earth. Now, as my husband asks, "why would anybody choose a really crappy existence like illness, homelessness, prostitution, etc.?" Or in my case, a life of pain. As soon as I get over one painful condition, another one starts, or I'm in an accident and sustain a painful injury. But the answer to that, actually there are many answers, could be karma (paying off a karmic debt) or a happy soul just wanting to experience what it's like to feel pain or unhappiness. For some reason, souls think they grow as they experience bad earthly things as well as the happiness and contentment of good lives. Sometimes a "bad" person can turn around and be a better person here on earth after experiencing some earthly consequences of his or her actions...and sometimes not. But I can tell you this, I did not consciously choose a painful body or the emotional pain of losing a son or my sister before she reached middle age. But I know or have known people who plunge right into a situation, even after many warnings from more sensible people, and then suffer the consequences of their actions. My first marriage was to a man like that. It's like he has never learned his lesson and just keeps doing it. In the case of people like that, it does look like they fit the pattern of choice that you asked about.

By the way, Grace, I don't think it's just in America.

I chose America purposely for America has unlimited educational & socioeconomic opportunities as opposed to other countries, especially developing countries where educational & socioeconomic opportunities are more limited.  I feel that there are those in America who purposely or willingly choose negative conditions due to their unintelligent choices.

Consciously most don't make the choice but their incarnation's requirement makes then be there and to remain there until they learn their lesson and change in this life, discarnates or become Born Again in preparation for the termination of this world.

I don't believe people consciously choose adverse circumstances. I do think some people subconsciously self sabotage.  I also believe some people choose to see themselves as victims. I choose to believe we are only victims when we allow ourselves to be.

Most often people are a victims of their own choices.

I was a victim of the system for 15 years that treated tiny houses more unlawful than weed. But I have a super power of sticktoativeness and finally beat them at their own senseless game. Also help pioneer in part of the legislation of marijauna.

A hammer is most useful tool, like weed. You could kill yourself with a hammer like some gun people claim is more dangerous than a gun. Or use everything in moderation and advance society. Still, I don't think a gun is a moderate tool, there is a chance of victim waiting to happen.

My key was to make a deliberate choice with the conviction that "if I die doing it I am willing to because I chose it.

If I was a Christian (for fun sake) and was captured by ISSI? They gave me a choice, to be islame or die.

Or course I would lie and save my own skin, and privately be Christains there afterwards. (Lie twice for enternal happiness, lol)

What would you do nature Boy,?

I don't have an answer to "what if" questions although I may have experienced them in another life but don't remember it/them (I would likely have made one choice one time and the other in another time) according to the law that one must experience both sides of the equations.

I posted this question to Christains before. Most of the Christains said they would rather die than to be Islam.

In my life, based on good sense, their answer was nonsense to me. I may risk my life if my daughter was in great danger, but never over an imaginary friend. Time to grow up at that point.

A Christian, per "The Acts of the Apostles" 11:26, is someone who is following the example of Jesus called Christ as he proclaimed in Matthew 6:24-34, 8:20, 19:29, 28:19-20 and John 3:3-8. Once we find someone following those instructions, only then we can call them Christian. So, you asked "Professors of being Christians" but they haven's experienced the Christian experience to obtain the understanding to be able to answer it. My answer, I believe, would be the answer of Jesus called Christ.

My bet, you wound lie, then would return privately to your faith, you have enough sense.

A lie to save your Life, I am sure Jesus would understand that kind of lie. Most Christains don't have much problem cheating or lying on their taxes.

I believe I would likely do what Jesus did during his trial.

No wonder Religion predominantly countries cases 90% of the world wars.

It takes to demonize your enimies in order to kill them easily.

Otherwise your consciousness would not have the heart to kill, exspeically mostly unknown poor woman/Children and self.
