As a fisherman, I've near encounter with mermaids.                                        But due to my christian root and up-bringing, these seems to avoid my world, as long as I detest they world.                                                  I'm at present putting a finish touch to another poem, where before my conversion, the meet is real than imagine.

I think there may be many surprises left to discover on Earth, though I don't have personal experiences to share. I doubt whether the creatures from the traditional myths that I've encountered exist, but the stories about them may be based on real entities and phenomena. There are almost certainly undiscovered surprises for us on Earth and beyond the planet. Nature is fascinating.

'I won't be surprised if they are already with us...and in us'.                                Yea, they're already here before mankind came here. These beings are malevolent, and when you offend then threaten your life to the point of no return. Some people submit to they protocol and are possessed of them.

Yea, those benevolent elements are prey to deceive anyone that falls into they trap.                                         Keeping a foot of distance away from all of them is safer.

'but the stories about them may be based on real entities and phenomena.'                                  Yes, Linda. Some instead of telling the story directly, use an indirect method thereby concealing useful information. That's why legends and folklores need to be examine carefully.                                       Seriously, legends that one can be dismiss with a wave of the hand contain truths. I would not be surprise if an hotel was located on the 13th floor of a storey building!

There are still relatively unexplored places on Earth, and just like the oceans where marine biologists are constantly discovering new life forms from the deepest depths, there are probably terrestrial creatures that have not yet been discovered, or thought of as only myth or folklore.

Yes in my village my grandmother would often speak of strange human like creatures that would appear from underground caves. She heard these stories from her grandmother. One never knows for sure what is out there

Yes, that's the mystery of the mystery, coming from under-ground cave.                                    In my part of the world, the river or sea, is not spared of such phenomena.

Have you ever been told that some of the stars were some Gods and Goddesses of the past? Some people also believes that when a person dies, it becomes a star. The brightest one that you could see at night might be that person dear to you. But I guess that's just how people cope with the fact that they're beloved is gone.

Can you imagine some of the stars and constellations we see at night are said to be lovers from the past? They might be people who used to rule the world in ancient times.

I dont know if its true. But I find stories about stars fascinating and interesting. There's 3 stars forming a line you could see like this '...' and it always seem the center is shining more.

It's just comforting to know somewhere from a far is watching over you making sure you'll be fine.

I also dont know, if what I said here is related to the discussion. Thought I share it anyway.

    Stay safe all.

Absolutely relevant to the discussion....my mother used to say she would always watch over me and that I should look for a star that is alone and twinkles and shines the brightest among others..do share your thoughts we all would love to read.
