The Groundbreaking Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2

Updated on March 12, 2013

Electrifying moves. Inspiring display of talents. The biggest, hottest and toughest talent search in the Philippines which is the Pilipinas Got Talent season 2 already rolled out the list of aspirants that made it through the semifinal round of the competition. The talent search which also invaded countries such as United Kingdom and the United States made its presence felt in the country and so far produced astounding results.

From an initial list of 196 competitors that stamped their class on the auditions that attracted thousands of wannabes from all across the country, and only 36 were culled from the field and will move into next round of the contest.

The talent search judges Ai-ai De las Alas (comedian/TV host), Kris Aquino (TV Host, an actress and the younger sister of the current Philippine President) and former ABS-CBN President and COO Freddie M. Garcia FMG truly find a lot of difficulties in coming up with the list.

The talent search was indeed phenomenal as it brings into spotlight the different gifts of the Filipinos in various fields of discipline such as dancing, singing, displaying artistic flair, playing musical instruments, dishing out magic and the list goes on.

Many dancers and singers made the grade, and this just exemplify the penchant of the Filipinos for music. Five bets from my hometown Dagupan City made it to the initial list of 196 qualifiers but only one made it through the semis. The lucky Dagupan bet is a powerful and graceful singer as she is loaded with immense charm and grit. Another bet from the province of Pangasinan and who hails from Mabini also displayed awesome singing talent and also secured one of the tickets at stake into the next round.

Also moving into the next round is a blind yet charming lady from the Visayas region who can play the piano and at the same time dish out a remarkable song rendition.

Also in the semifinal cast is a pair of tap dancers coming from Mindanao, a freestyle dancers from Laguna who are capable of making groundbreaking moves and heart stopping grooves with their street dancing and a stunning singer from the Visayas region who is so exquisitely beautiful and also sideline as a model.

The breadth and depth of the talents showed by the semifinalists in the early stages of the contest is indeed enormous and it is a joy watch them dish out their well-crafted stuffs on the stage

There are no clear favorites yet as the smoke of battle is still set to flourish in the coming days but one thing is for sure all of the participants will try to whip up performance that will inspire and keep the viewing public in a state of awe and disbelief.

New singing phenom Jovit Balvino won last year’s edition of the Pilipinas Got Talent.

This hub will be regularly updated with the latest happenings in the talent search.
