Yes, it appears he has died. Despite the horrible rumors, whether true or not, I do think he was a good person. However, that's not meant to excuse any unsavory behavior he may have engaged in. Perhaps his illness was as mental as it was physical. He is a pop icon for the ages, and no doubt his death will be heavily reported. Rest in peace, Prince of Pop.

So - now he would go to paradise - is it? Its sad that we have people like you, who focus on religion so much.

Anyways, I was shocked to hear the news of his death. I think he wanted to redeem him image and I think he would have with his upcoming concert. So sad - he didn't get the chance.

I think he will be remembered much more fondly than he is now, in years to come. I think all the controversies and wierdness will be forgotten by future generations. He would be remembered for his wonderful evergreen music. Its truly the end of an era!!

Yeah no kidding. Everyone has a skeleton in their closet, and it's not even proven those skeletons exist (I couldn't picture a parent taking money over justice if that really happened). And if you believe there aren't parents that would use their kids for a chance to get some guys money, I feel bad for you when you wake up from your dream world. He was a text book weirdo, but that doesn't mean he did anything bad to the kids. At least give the dude one day's worth of respect before you start bashing someone on something you really have no way of knowing ever happened.

here's a curious question: no one would reprove me if I made the mild comments i have while he was alive and well. why is the fact that hes dead change the reaction?

I suppose to me he has always been more of an idea or an embodiment of certain principles i thought less than noble and just because he has died does not mean that his legacy hasn't, like jimmy said. From my perspective i'm not at all kicking a dead body, just a freakish collection of immortalized attributes.

    .... hahaha

I am in great pain that we has lost another great star. Now is the time to dwell on the good that he had done with his life. If you can't say anything good about a dead person. It just tell what kind of person you are. No one has said anything nagative about Farrah. I love them both.

Being child star, especially one as talented as Michael, cannot help but be detrimental to a person's mental process's.  He was such a extraordinary entertainer but there always seemed to be something lonely about him.

No matter what you think about him as a person his music was one part of him which was GOOD.

Wow. Micheal Jackson dead. How much money did he owe people over the last few years and never paid? Gigs that were never paid, and the lawsuits for money. Then there was the Bahrain deal that went sour, and closed with a undeterminant agreement. Oh yeah, the pedophile thing too. Jeez, he was so great....

Unfortunately, we will wait for toxicology on this one, or maybe foul play.............

Couldn't say he was larger than life - he was quite reclusive in reality.  So that's a weird tabloid type statement.  I'm not surprised it was a heart attack, I'm pretty sure he had allot of demons in his emotional closet which showed externally in his eccentricity.  Then again, didn't he have a McDonalds at his old ranch?  Maybe he had a bad diet.

He was a talented person, but highly troubled.  His music was not my favorite, but he did have a few good songs.  I also thought it was touching how he liked the Moody Blues because not many other major pop stars have given them the recognition they deserve.  I realize I have had about twenty-six years of really clear memories because I remember watching Jackson's videos in Kindergarten and first grade when he was still very big.  At this point he has passed away and we really cannot say we know anything for certain about his life, except it is sad when someone dies that young.

I, for one, am greatly saddened by the loss of the talented young man.  Yes, I know he was 50 ( we are too too close to the same age), but I saw a severe case of arrested social development.  This is the worst case of child stardom gone awry that has ever existed. I believe that he spent his adulthood looking for his childhood.  That is extremely sad.  When you top off the fact that he turned himself from a very good looking young man into a freakish looking monster, no wonder then he ended up with severe mental issues.

None of that takes away from his extreme talent.  He still blew me away every time I saw him perform in a video. I was extremely saddened to hear of his death.  I also was gratified to see so many people stand out to say how he influenced their musical careers.  Unfortunately, we didn't hear so much of this when he was living.

Yes, Jackson was a baby who never matured because of you and me.

But Jackson suffered burns to his scalp after pyrotechnics accidentally set his hair on fire and latter the pop star was diagnosed with vitiligo. He must have used treatments and makeup to mask blotches that made his skin appear very pale.
