Do you think following celebrities is a worth while thing to do? on social networking sites or...
keeping tabs of them on the news?
No. The celebrity profile you are following is often a fake, and if it's not, somebody else is usually writing for them.
From another point of view; if you only want to keep up to date with what the celebrity is doing, then perhaps it is worthwhile (if you're following the real celebrity, that is).
Encouraging the cult of the celebrity is never a worthwhile thing to do.
I'd only follow a celebrity if I thought they could and would return the favor. - if we could potentially socialize. Since they are usually just using their sites to attract fans and promote themselves, I would have to pass.
I'm thinking probably not, unless you are working for a PR firm or something.
