Is there an age limit for adults to start ballet for the first time?
Do you think it is acceptable for adults to take a ballet class if they have never done so as a child?
Yes, it's OK to start ballet at any age. I teach ballet among other classes, to adult beginners and have many clients who have never done it before. My eldest newcomer is seventy! They love it because they like the music, it improves posture, flexibility, coordination, mood and stamina. Plus ballet is also a good brain trainer for its logical, geometric nature and the challenges involved in memorising and executing enchainements (sequences of steps).
