Did Chris Hayes Voice the Opinion of a Majority of Liberals About our Soldiers?

Chris Hayes is a talking head from MSNBC, who said during a program that he was uncomfortable calling our soldiers who died during battle as heroes because he considers it as "justifications for more war".  I was astounded when I heard that through the blogosphere, but then I thought that was really how liberals looked at our military and here was one liberal voicing it out loud.  Finally.  Granted, it came from MSNBC, a cable network that no one watches but it is the lefty channel.

Disagreeing with how the military is being used is different from having respect for soldiers. This seems like a case where he wanted to speak against war but did so in a clumsy way, to which he then apologized.

In his apology he talked about stereotypes and not walking in other's boots, which you should perhaps take to heart. Rather than taking a beat-stick to the imaginary 'liberal' piƱata you hang in front of your face, how about trying to realize that these are real human beings you are talking about, with a heart every bit as big as yours. Want to know how liberals feel about soldiers? Ask them. You'll find the answer will be pretty much the same as yours.

Soldiers don't just come from conservative families. There are lots of liberal soldiers on the battlefield, just as there are lots of liberal families at home bearing that sacrifice. Frankly, I find your comments more offensive than what Mr. Hayes said and I know a lot of liberals who would knock you on your rear-end if you questioned their commitment to our soldiers.

I have no doubt that you easily take offense.  Mr. Hayes and his gang of four liberals seem educated enough to communicate well.  He knew that what he was saying wasn't going to be popular and he got enough negative feedback that he retreated.
