The Hurt Locker, in my opinion, was the best film of the year and one of the best war films I've seen in a long time.

It's a must see and I'd be shocked if it didn't get any Oscars recognition.

That was a great movie! It was 2 hours of tension and drama and a realistic appreciation for the work our soldiers are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I just saw "Precious" which has gotten critical acclaim. It was okay, another depiction of reality that most of us never see.

It was really fantastic to watch The princess and the frog movie. I have watched it in yesterday night and of course I really appreciate rose voice for Tiana character as it was strong female character. It showed courage, loyalty and many more things than other characters. It was funny and really sweet. I love that movie. Any way it will be great to see among free movies.

There are many that I missed in theaters and now anticipate as  DVD releases (namely Moon, Hurt Locker, and In the Loop).  As for movies that are currently playing, I've got my eye on Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Road as potentially strong contenders without having actually seen them yet.

But the best I've seen?  Its gotta be Up.

My favourite film of the year is a British one, so most Americans probably haven't seen it. It was called The Boat That Rocked, it's about pirate radio stations in england.

I believe it is being released in the U.S., but maybe under a different title.  I saw previews earlier this year of a movie with that story line.

Pirate Radio and the Boat That Rocked are the same movie.  Why the title change, I wonder?

Pirate Radio ... thats original! Boat That Rocked is a better title. Dno why they need to change it.

Moon, starring Sam Rockwell and directed by first timer Duncan Jones (David Bowie's son) was very good, by the way.  Must see for Sci Fi fans that prefer a brainy script over a balls-to-the-wall action flick.
