Hillary Clinton has to make the list, of course.

Britney Spears, Linsay Lohan, and "Octo-Mom" are famous.

    Carla Bruni

    Nancy Pelosi

lol I'm a firm believer that, if people don't know you by your real name, you're not really famous. "Octo-Mom" will be forgotten, I am sure lol

What about... Reese Witherspoon? I've always liked her.

Famous? - I have heard of Britney and Hilary through massive commercial self promotion mostly - the rest I have never heard of.

How about women who have taken a stand against overwhelming odds. Like:

Neda Agha-Soltan, Iran, shot and killed for being a symbol of the Iranian anti-government movement.

Olga Kotovskaya, investigative journalist, died when she "fell" from the 14th floor of a building in Kaliningrad.

Uma Singh, journalist, Nepal, gunned down at her house.

Zakia Zaki, Afghanistan, a human rights activist who was shot seven times.

How many women have stood up to tyranny and injustice in the past 10 years and have paid the ultimate price? The list is endless.

These are heroic women certainly, that they are not famous is because people are uninterested in anything past their own narrow self interest - and so the media feeds that to them.

Okay, then how about Paris Hilton? She's phony, transparent, the media loves her, and she's done absolutely nothing for this planet except make an ass of herself. (Wait, I almost forgot -- she also knows how to spend money she's never earned.)

Yep - that is famous !   Is my point entirely I think.  But if this is what 'they' want it says everything about 'them' ?

Sorry. She has a weak chin, a low forehead, a nose that's too prominent, she's a bit anorexic, and she has loose threads on her gown. That gown looks like a thrift store throwaway.

And look at her cheeks. She's had her wisdom teeth pulled. I'm more attracted to Swedish milkmaids.
