I also love Lady Gaga and even took my 16 year old to the Monster Ball tour when she was up here at the TD Garden in Boston back in March, however, she is by no means unique.  If anything, she's a Madonna wanna-be-come-lately.  If you listen to "Born this Way" you can't help but notice how much it sounds like Madonna's "Express Yourself" and "Vogue".  Also, Madonna was shocking the world and pushing the envelope with costumes and attitude back in the 80s before Lady Gaga was even born.

hip hop music??? lol, you think Lady Gaga is part of "hip hop music"? Okay, whatever you say. By the way, just because this idiot of a music artist ripped off Vogue and Express Yourself all in one song doesn't make her original. And I don't care how many times she uses the "paying homage" excuse. I pay homage to my butt every day when I come home and relax in my favorite chair after a long day at work. Even my cat pays homage to monkeys by attempting to climb trees, but not dressing up like a darn monkey!

She is going to be bigger than Madonna, she reached 10 million twitter followers, beating out Justin Bieber. That is a big accomplishment.

If the world revolved around twitter.....
No, but in all seriousness, she's definitely hitting madonna fame. For our generation anyways...

I also like Lady Gaga. And, even though I see the comparisons to Madonna, you might also want to include Cyndi Lauper, because of her unique style, and some of her ballads.

The only thing Lady Gaga is guilty of is drawing way too much attention to herself, and being a genius in getting that attention, which is almost the same as the attention Madonna received when she was pushing the envelope. But, if you go back even farther to the biggest music Diva in history, don't forget about Cher. She had more lavish costumes, hair changes, and wackiness then Lady Gaga and Madonna combined. And, Cher is still selling records after more than 40 years. And she is near 70.

Cher had two television series, sold millions of albums, had countless sold out concerts, and still found time to act in a lot of big money making films, including one that just came out last year, and she is still in the news. She once said, that someone in the music business claimed that if there was a nuclear war, the only things that would be left are cock roaches and Cher. That's being a legend.

Yes Cher is an icon and completely unique.  But I don't see Lady Gaga doing a rip off of Cher like she seems to be of Madonna.  Cher was always a lady and a class act, even at her wildest.  Lady Gaga and Madonna have more media manipulation than talent and are skanks at best.

Umm, it doesn't matter how many followers she has on Twitter. Madonna isn't as hot as she used to be anymore, so you can't compare their Twitters. And back in the day when Madonna was on top of her game, Twitter did not exist, so there. There's no way, as an original and quality artist, that she could be bigger than Madonna because she knows people are calling her the new Madonna and she is letting it get to her head, look at all the so-called "tributes" in her music videos and once again the song Born This Way which is clearly two Madonna classics combined into one. Not very original, if you ask me. It's more like she is relying on Madonna-like antics to stay afloat in the business.

If anything, Britney Spears was the closest artist we had to a new Madonna in the past 10 years. She was inspired by Madonna but you don't see her zeroxing her style and songs, do you? Britney took the inspiration she got and found her own uniqueness. Mind you, I can't speak on behalf of her newest songs since it seems like she's following what everyone else is doing right now, but back in the late 90s to mid 00s, she was pretty good.

As much as I quote Lady Gaga to be one of my guilty pleasures, I am very disappointed with this new album. It seems like she's lacking ideas and kinda throwing stuff around and mixing it in places it shouldn't be mixed. Monster and The Fame Monster were greats with ballads and pop songs. I cannot stand much pop music at all anymore and somehow she got me hooked. If you look up videos of her, before she was lady gaga, she's definitely got the talent. She's full of talent, for all the non-believers, but she's sort of just banking in for money and fame. Or, maybe, her heart is actually into that kind of music. Whatever the case, I'm not a fan of her newest album as much as the ones before it.
