"Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492"
1/2 of eight is much more than 4...
The first President after the American Revolution was not George Washington. Under the Articles of Confederation it was the appointed John Hanson...

Countless song lyrics, quotes from films, wholesale dialogue from old comic books and MAD magazines.... tons of useless (but fun) stuff.

I know the first 30-40 digits of pi. You know, the 3.14 kind of pi. I was a quirky and very nerdy kid.

There are lots of songs and rhymes as well as my first home phone number and the address where we lived during my elementary school years in the 1960s.

The entire Psalms 23. It was the first scripture that I had ever learned. I was about 11 years old.

The Gettysburg Address and Longfellow's "Paul Revere's Ride." I actually learned the latter because of my sister's attempts to memorize it for a talent show. I spent so much time behind her acting it out to try to distract her and/or get Mom to laugh in the middle of it that I remember it even better. If we count teen years, the FFA creed is also still burned in my brain.

While in Kindergarden (I call it Basic School) I learned this Poem:

"Labour for learning before you grow old,
For learning is better than silver and gold.
Silver and gold will vanish away,
But a good education will never decay."

I was about 3 or 4 years old at the time. I never forgot it.

I learnt another poem "The Heights By Great Men" when I was in Primary School. It goes:

"The heights by great men reached and kept,
Were not attained by sudden flight.
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling onward through the night."
