Happy Grandparents Day to all the grandparents out there! If you are indeed a grandparent, then you do not need me to tell you just how Grand it is being a grandparent. We love our children, of course, but the love of a grandchildren is almost too special to try to put into words. It is certainly Grand. I never knew such love existed until I became a grandmother, when my son at his young age of 19 became a father, and then went on to bless me with two more precious darlings. Pictured here are my three darling grandchildren. How about you?
Hi Kevin, the photo is all of my three darling grandchildren. My oldest granddaughter, Scarlett, is six, then Lily is four and then Landon will be two in October! My son made me a grandmother at his young age of 19, as I explained here. The thought of becoming a grandmother soon after my son's 19th birthday was the farthest thing from my mind, but now I cannot imagine a life without them. I did a tribute here on HP to all of the lovely grandmothers I know of here on HP. There are so many, much to my delight and surprise. I decided just to do a forum here in lieu of a hub, being I have done that already. I hope you will one day know the joy of being a parent and then that extra special and indescribable love of being a grandparent, and knowing of the truly grand love received from grandchildren.
I guess that I read it too quickly to notice. As soon as I saw the post I thought that it happened today.
I do not have any children, so I will not have any grandchildren.
On totally different line - there is a commercial (for a diet) she is young, and is called grandmother. She cannot accept it at first until the end of the commercial, and says, "I can own that."
That does not make sense to me. You?
Yes, I completely understand! Thank you for telling me about the commercial. One never knows what the future holds ...I sure did not. Hope you are enjoying a lovely Sunday and keeping your eye out for some lovely birds and listening to their lovely songs to enjoy. Hugs
You have a lovely Sunday too Faith. I am always watching for great looking birds, both old or new!
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, every day is grandparents day in reality! Blessings
Happy Grandparents Day, dear Faith. This is such a special day. Your grandchildren are soo beautiful :-) As one grandma to another, I wish you special joy on this wonderful day. Love and hugs. :-)
Happy Grandparents Day to you too, lovely Genna. I know you know of that special love that only grandchildren can give and it is a special blessing from above no doubt. Enjoy your day! Love and Hugs
Happy Grandmother's day.
Yes I have three of each, and know what you are talking about.
Hi Dear Shyron, wow, you are blessed beyond measure too, and I do know you understand why the Grands are so grand and being a Grand is grand! God bless you and all of your darling grands. You are another lovely grandmother here on HP and now that I know I will add you to my tribute to the grandmothers here.
Faith, does great aunt count?
Beautiful photo, they're absolutely delightful!
Sure, Jo (tobusiness)! Great Aunts are truly Great and such a blessing in the family. Thank you so much. Hope you have a lovely week ahead. Blessings
Happy Grandparents' Day Faith! I still remember the time Scarlett had that arm injury and the prayer warriors were on the rise! Just a wonderful way God healed her. The picture is so beautiful!
What a great act of love and kindness for you to post a forum regarding grandchildren. You are one gorgeous grandmother...you look too young!
I did not realize it was grandparents' day...
I took my grandson, Steven, to see Guardians Of The Galaxy a couple weeks ago...treated him to a lunch at the Crackerbarrel. The best part of the day is when I took him home and when he got out of the car...He looked at me and said, "I love you." The three best words in the world!
God bless you so very much, Faith!
Hi there, so lovely and young grandmother, Sparklea!
Oh, yes, those are the three most beautiful words in the world to hear, especially from a grandchild. Well, what a blessing it was for your grandson to spend time with you precious heart and for you too!!!
We do love our children, but there is something special and Grand about being a grandparent and the love of a grandchild. I am so glad you hear those three lovely words and pray you hear them often in this life.
Thank you for being such a beautiful blessing to me in this life.
God bless you too, sweet friend. Hugs

Do you have any ideas of how a grandparent can be more relevant in the lives of their grandchildren. Some only have the reputation of being amusing.

What are some good grandmother/grandfather names? We're trying to come up with some names for my parents, since they're about to be grandparents for the first time. Any ideas? (They don't want to sound old, because they're not even 40 yet, so be creative, but not silly please.)

Do grandparents love their grandchildren more than their own children?I have heard some grandparents say that they love their grandchildren more. Is it because they have forgotten how much they used to love their own children?

What are the most appealing names grandchildren call their grandparents?

Would an anecdotal history of a grandparent be relevant to our children today? Not a nostalgia trip, but social details: how a grandmother lived as a young girl - manners, entertainment, home life, friendships, education and aspirations, holidays. Telling a story which shows life parallels with...
