Why did my beagle nip at my 10 month old brother?(it was bad)
It depends on what the dog was doing and the circumstances surrounding the nip. To accurately answer this question, one would need more details.
I would make sure your brother is never alone with the dog. The dog may be irritated with him. Example, maybe your brother has hit him with a toy or bottle in the past. He also may feel left out since your brother was born. Maybe there is a little bit of jealousy. I am not familar with beagles, just a suggestion.
Dogs do not like when people, dogs, or anything get in their face. Like a challenge or something. They also have to learn to trust and like someone that is not their master. You might consider showing your dog that you like your brother and that it is ok for your dog to like him also. Don't yell either, it incites your dog to protect .....you. Just some thoughts from a dog owner.
