I would say it was going with my parents to visit my maternal grandmother and grandfather in Central Wisconsin.  I don't remember going that much, but I do remember having a lot of fun in grandma's house and always crying when it was time to leave and go back home.

I don't know if this still counts as childhood, but the summer before my senior year of high school my family took a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains.  It was the first trip we ever took that wasn't to visit relatives.  We stayed in Fontana Village in North Carolina and it was a wonderful time.  There was lots to do and the scenery was unbelieveable to a Florida girl.  It was when the mountains first cast their spell on me,  I have been back to the mountains, anywhere from Georgia to Virginia, atleast once a year ever since.  My current dream is to finally move to North Carolina in the next year or so.
