   Where is the best place to solicit stories from people?
   
   I am finishing another book and I need to add personal stories. I'm looking for people who have made a best friend through volunteer work. I also need stories from people who are living far away from their own parents.  If you know of any specific forums or other places I can request these stories please link to them in your answer and feel free to send me an email as well. Thanks for your help!

   You might want to find a chat room on MSN or Yahoo if you need to solicit these on line...otherwise if you want to do it in person to to your local university student union or any place that does volunteer work like Goodwill, Salvation Army, a soup kitchen, or a church.

   Definitely try putting a post on craigslist.org as well as your social networking sites like twitter, facebook, and google +.Encourage your friends on the social networking sites to share your post with their friends and get the message out. Or you can also try following the Facebook pages of volunteer organizations and post your request on their wall. I imagine most volunteer organizations are eager to get their name out there (for pr purposes) so I'm sure they would love to help. Their PR reps might be a good resource too for tracking people down.
