Well I haven't been a parent very long (my daughter is almost 11 months) but I think it was when I was pregnant that I was told not to drive at all when I got real big. Driving doesn't hurt anything. If I can ride in a car, I can certainly drive one.

    This could be a hub.

    * Use scotch [alcohol] for teething pain. (I'm sorry, I'm not putting booze in babies' mouths). And also using a bit of alcohol, paregoric (opium), or ativan (benzo) to quiet a fussy toddler. (I mean REALLY!)

It appears these "tips" were used on me and my peers and they 'worked just fine'. It also appears some moms still do this. I imagine it's illegal, but I feel strongly it's immoral.
