What are some tried and true methods on teaching a child to ride a bike without training wheels?
My 7 year old daughter still can't ride a bike with out training wheels. She will say she can't and will just quit which only serves to frustrate me. We are at a standstill and I need some advice!
What worked for my boys was removing the pedals and letting them scoot using their feet. Little by little they will get more comfortable lifting their feet up instead of relying on them for balance at which point the pedals can be introduced.
I learnt to ride a bike at about age of 10, my girls younger & we never had training wheels, Dad held the bike for a bit while I got the hang of it then let go.
Same thing with my girls & I still loving riding a bike when its not too hot . Take the training wheels off & hold on to the back of the bike as she practices.
