What is the nicest thing that happened to you today?
I only ask this because today I had a lovely oldish lady stop me in the street and she said, excuse me dear, but I just had to say you look just like my daughter! and then she went on to say that the daughter was now living in Canada, and she missed her and so on. We chatted for about half an hour! lol! it really made my day, and when she left she said, 'Thank you dear, you have brightened up this old lady for the rest of the day! how wonderful was that?
Your day was much more special than mine. That was a really nice story
I helped someone at work today (part of my job) who had found it hard recently and they thanked me and told me that because I was sitting with them that had made things a bit easier for them. Sometimes it is nice just to know that in a little way you might be making things a bit better somewhere.
Good question Nell, promotes positive and happy thoughts
Nell, that is a wonderful story. I think the nicest thing that happened to me today was reading that story.
Oh, how lovely, Nell, and thank you for sharing such. You may just have been entertaining an angel. For he tells us this in His Word to be kind to strangers as we could very well be entertaining angels, who are really coming to minister to us by conversing with us. I digress, and to answer your question, the nicest thing to happen to me this day was I was able to have a lovely lunch with my son, as he also works in the city in which I work too. We try to have lunch at least once a week. Although, I just saw him and my three grands this past Friday night on my way home from work. It is still nice to have lunch though with my son.
I had a ball today. I spent the entire day researching family on ancestry.com. I had my DNA done and it came back 100% British Isles. I really didn't know much about where my father's family came from and I found they have been here since the 1600's in New England.
My dad died in 1960, so finding all this out has been so much fun.
So far, 3 friends check up on me, one friend here fixing a broken sprinkler head, one friend taking me to the doctor, and kids who helped get themselves ready for school since this mom has vertigo and the world is spinning by me!
I feel blessed to have so many caring people around me.
That's such a nice story! I've had a pretty bad day today, but it always brightens up when my husband comes back from work and we make dinner together.
I had my exercise done, today and I have to do more. You have the nicest day, I guess.
This day is going well for me. I am done unpacking boxes from a recent move to a new address - I have applied to two new work positions - I wrote a letter to a magazine about an issue that has been important to me for quite a long while and the magazine article was a good read - the weather is hot and beautiful here and I like your question - Nell. More to come - I hope on a positive note for you as well. Blessings to a sweet Brit.
Nell....How awesome! I think something that sweet would brighten my day too! Isn't it amazing when things like this happen to us, out of the blue? I've had a really nice day so far....and it's only lunch time....so maybe I will hope for a huge surprise. I'm really lovin life, here in Georgia at my son's home. I wish you could meet my grandchildren......the twins are precious, Nell! "Ethan" and "Elias"......I guess just being here is a really NICE thing to happen to me! Take care. I'm missing my hub pals again!......

What is one positive thing that happened to you today? With all of the negativity often shared by media, I think it is healthy to remind ourselves of good things that happen in our everyday lives. Even the simplest of thoughts & activities. Feel free to share a photo along with your post!

I thought it would be uplifting, to hear remarks about the best thing in our day...or any day.For me, I reached a new goal at work, I'm going out to dinner with Hubby and Middle Son, we'll eat burgers and listen to some live music....and it's a beautiful day, even if I am in Florida. ...

What is the first thing most men notice when they meet a woman?

It's silly but sometimes I notice that people sometimes take for granted the people that are closest to their hearts. And so our thanks are said casually and for politeness sake. And because that is what we've learned in kindergarten. :-) But do we ever really pause for awhile and truly...
