Do you massage your baby on a regular basis?
Baby massage is said to improve a baby's overall health and development. Have you noticed any benefits from massaging your baby?
When my kids were babies, I used to touch them a lot. Not just hugging and holding but caressing and stroking their skin, head, etc. I was afraid to massage too hard.
I would massage the babies all the time! After feeding, after baths, after playing, before bed... I never had a colic baby and I attribute this to massage. It may sound silly but it was like I was rubbing the gas out of them. haha. Massage after baths or before bedtime would calm and relax them for easy sleep.
There were benefits for me too. It was quality time to spend individually with each child. It was calming for me after a hectic day. It seemed to strengthen the mother-child bond as they were more likely to want to snuggle and spend time with me.
I never massaged my daughter when she was a baby. But she got lots of hugs and kisses.
