If all your father had to offer you was his time and stories, would you want to know him?
Suppose your father lived a meager life or didn't have the means to give you all that you desired or even couldn't support you at all or as well as you should be, would you want to know him? If he were poor, homeless, and could offer you nothing but time and his life tales or the stories that he has seen in his past, would you want to know of him? Are you better off not knowing who he is or was?
I would certainly want to know him. I think that time is one of the most precious gifts that a father can give his child. Stories of my father's past would be valuable, too. They would help me to understand him and his life better and would indirectly be part of my history as well as his.
Absolutely, that is what is so important. Money goes fast, memories last a lifetime .
