Do you think Caesarean is absolutely unavoidable?

This era has witnessed more deliveries by caesarean as compared to the past, do you think it's an oppression? Is it unavoidable? Why animals deliver through a normal way? In what sense it's preventable? How it effects woman's health?

I think that some are certainly avoidable. Sometimes it's a time/resources thing on the hospital's part which is terrible. I've also known people to get elective c-sections for no real reason other than they're uncomfortable at 38 weeks or they just don't want to deliver naturally (which totally blows my mind).

At the same time, not everyone can deliver naturally and sometimes it is completely necessary and saves the lives of the baby or mother (or both).

I think it should be a last resort and not a convenience thing.

Thanks Aime F. Very convincing reply. I think there should be a societal mechanism to prevent those women who, for no reasons, go for c-sections and also to improve the hospital's overall performance.
