How do I get my 8 year old to stop lying
Okay, my 8 year old is turning into a non-stop fibber. She is lying more than telling the truth. Did you feed the fish? Lie. They are clearly lies of convenience and wrong none the less. How do I get her to see the error of her ways? How do I scare her straight and see the consequences of her actions without trauma? Boy who cried wolf didnt work do we need a refresher??
Trying to scare her straight seems to have a link with trauma. Books like Tell the Truth Tyler could be helpful to your child. See these links for reviews:

Why do parents get upset that their child/children have lied to them? Why was it okay for them to lie on their behalf? Do you as a parent firmly believe it's a difference between a little white lie, a good lie, or a partial lie?

So I have a six-year-old daughter who constantly lies. It has gotten to the point where I can't believe a word that comes out of her mouth. I've tried very hard to teach her how important telling the truth is and that it is a safety issue, but nothing is helping. I've just set up an appointment for...

How can I stop my dog from snapping at a 2 year old. This is not her normal behavior and he has been living with us since February, I don't know why she is reacting this way. She has never bitten before. She is a black lab 6 years old and very friendly. I cannot risk my grandson being seriously hurt.
