Why do new born babies cry each time they wake up from sleep?
Because they can't say "HEY! I'M AWAKE IN HERE! HELLO?"
A better question is why do they stop doing so later on? Sleep is so much better than being awake.
incprinc.....Newborns don't all, always wake up crying. A good portion of the time, they do because they are H U N G R Y. Their only means of communication is to cry. However, plenty of times, a baby will simply awaken and be still & quiet for quite a while.
Their crying is merely the way they get our attention. It means, "Please feed me, change my diaper, or often, they just need to be held and made to feel safe & loved."
