How do the factors of education levels, family size, & socioeconomic levels of parents influence how they raise their children?  Do parents who possess higher education levels i.e. college & advanced educations make for more engaged parents while less educated parents aren't as engaged with their children, seeing the latter more as tolerable burdens?  Do parents from small families (1-2 children per household) more more involved parents as opposed to parents from large families(5-more children per household) who are more perfunctory, less loving parents? Why do more affluent parents i.e. upper middle & upper income parents value cultural & educational activities for their children as opposed to poor parents i.e. lower, working, & lower middle incomd parents who practice benign neglect as far as their children go?   Your thoughts on the subject.

    Dear gmwilliams,

In my view, it's a matter of evolution of consciousness. The more aware the parents are, the more they love their children. These types of parents, who truly love and care for their children, will make the effort to provide all they need, such as food, shelter, clothing, stimulating activities and educational environments.

Also, they understand the importance of spacing the children, so that each child is given all the love and attention it requires in order to thrive, both psychologically and physically.

It's also a matter of cooperation of both mother and father, each playing their roles. They are intelligent enough to discuss and agree upon child rearing issues and work harmoniously together. It is important that they are on the same page. Higher awareness parents communicate well. They communicate long before they have children and find common ground. This type of harmony is vital for the child.

The father is someone who can sacrifice his freedom for the sake of his beloved wife. And the mother is someone who can forgo many conveniences in order to help her husband. She shouldn't be demanding. She shouldn't be self-indulgent.

It takes a lot of discipline and knowledge to raise children and I believe parenting classes before marriage would help to raise the awareness of the partners before they have children. People in this country have so much freedom, and so little discipline. Discipline is so important.

Highly aware parents have the determination to be happy and positive. And they do whatever it takes to pull together and raise their children, appropriately.
