Brunch Menu Ideas

Updated on March 12, 2011

Will you be hosting a brunch sometime in the near future? Brunches are a popular choice for holiday season entertaining, family get-togethers, christening celebrations, and other special events. There are many creative and delicious items you can serve to the friends and family members who are invite to enjoy a brunch gathering at your home.

Menu Planning for a Brunch Event

To ensure that you'll have something that each guest will enjoy, consider preparing two main course choices and side dish selections, ensuring that the items you select aren't too similar to each other. Keep in mind that some people don't like eggs and many don't like seafood or have shellfish allergies, so variety is a good idea – especially if you don't know the dining preferences of some of your guests.

It's also a good idea to offer a variety of beverage selections, including a combination of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Coffee and water are musts for any brunch gathering, and it's also a good idea to include a few juice and cocktail options.

Coming Up With Brunch Menu Ideas

Consider choosing a few items from each category the next time you host a brunch gathering. For ease and convenience, consider setting up the items you decide to serve buffet style. This will allow your guests to serve themselves, choosing the portions they desire of as many or as few of the available items as they please.
