Why do we feel okay eating certain animals for food, but not others?
Is there really anything wrong (or right) about being selective about your choice of meat?
You have to consider a number of factors. Above all, is it safe to eat the meat of the particular animal and doing so doesn't present any form of health hazard? It is important also to consider whether the animal is an endangered species. We should also consider how humanely the animal was reared and slaughtered. Possibly, however, the biggest factor in real terms why people don't eat certain animals is that for one reason or another they don't like the idea of doing so. This may be because the animals are considered "cute," or maybe "dirty." In the latter instances, it is all down to human perception and individual choice.
I am a vegetarian, so perhaps a little biased, but if I did eat meat it would have to be from happy animals e.g. free range farmed animals or even wild animals that have lived a natural life.
Many people in the UK are very sentimental about animals that are kept as pets, and are often shocked or horrified by the fact that dogs or horses are eaten in other countries.
Cause I can't walk into burger king and eat my rabbit the way I like. I think it depensd what country you're in that certain animals I wouldn't eat would be eaten daily elsewhere. As for living in Hawaii, what I eat is dependent upon what comes off the matson truck rather than from the land. When I do travel I try to eat meats that aren't available or are taboo here.
I think it depends on what you've grown up on and what you're willing to try. I know I eat certain meats without giving it any thought...but others I need to be coaxed to try. then again there are some that I would never want to even explore. I see what they eat in other countries and I wrinkle my nose.....but if they saw what I ate, they'd probably do the same!
Because some animals have been domesticated so many people just can't take eating them. These animals may include dogs, cats, horses and rabbits. Other cultures, however, have a practice of eating domesticated animals.

Do peopleeat meat in heaven?I was curious as to what people eat in heaven. Who does the cooking and who slaughter the animals if they eat meat. If God tells us that we should not kill, does this apply to animals?

Why do vegetarians and vegans condemn people who eat meat?We do not think they are crazy or speak poorly of them who can't stomach the thought of sushi, or even bacon or eggs for breakfast.

Why do most people eat more cooked food than raw food? Most people gravitate to cooked food (over raw food) without thinking about it. What is the reason for this among people - both in a general sense and specific to you.

I believe yes, because killing is itself a violent act and if it is involved in the process of making food, it will definitely makes them more violent.
