AE: This is not really a white or wheat rice recipe, but I guarantee you will find it delicious as a main dish. It is my take on Jambalaya. One family box of Zateran's Jumbalaya Mix, 3 stalks of celery chopped, 1 medium onion chopped, 1 spoonful of minced garlic, 1 fresh diced tomato. 1/2 stick of unsalted butter, 6 sliced Hot Links, 1/2 cup of beer....Sautee everything except Jumbalaya Mix until hot links become browned in pan. Deglaze pan with beer,
Once everything is cooked, follow instructions on the zataran's Jumbalaya mix by adding the suggested amount of water to sauteed ingredients. Bring to boil then ad your Mix and return to boil. Then cover and place on low for the specified time.
You will love this. If you have a large gathering, feel free to double up and reduce water by 1/2 cup per box.of miz.
I know you will love it. It is quick, easy, and can be used for a main or side dish.

A fave w/my son years ago when getting used to eating cheap after eating rich w/his doctor-dad was chunky beef soup (nothing but Campbell's) poured over white rice; now I see it being advertised on t.v. more than 30 yrs later. I love to scramble a couple of eggs, add some onion and any appropriate leftovers and add to cooked rice and sesame oil for oriental and black bean, chopped tomatoes w/Creole seasoning is great, too!
