    The best recipe is one with ingredients that you like and has the flavor and texture of what you would want to share with friends and relatives.  That doesn't necessarily say that your friend's recipe is any better or worse because they have added what they like into the recipe.  A good example of this is spaghetti sauce.  Some like a heavy spice taste while other prefer a less acidy sweeter blend.  I think I have a great meat sauce but you might not like it.
