Do you give your children the foods you hated yourself as a child?
But of course. If I were to give them the perfect childhood, what would they have to look forward to, or to strive for? Everything would be downhill from then on. So, I have to introduce a little imperfection into their lives, so that they can say, "When I grow up, things will be better."
Yes....I do offer foods to my child which i used to hate when i was young. Because i know well these are healthy and I aspire to make him know the healthy food habits.
My tastes changed considerably from the time I was a child. I was a very skinny kid who was really really finicky about food. Well--I outgrew that and unfortunately have fallen in love with all foods.
We introduced foods to the kids but they were not forced to eat them. They were usually willing to try things but we never pressured them. I knew from my own childhood that those likes and dislikes would change as they grew--as long as good healthy foods were available for them.

It's a favourite topic with atheists to go through the Bible looking for anything that may support Jesus was a hypocrite and wicked man. So what were these supposed evils?
