Any tips for a meat, cheese, and egg loving person to work towards becoming a vegan?

Can you truly have the best of both worlds and become a part-time vegan? Any tips to live a better lifestyle for health reasons, but still eat what you love? Recipes too?

Nutritional yeast sprinkled on foods gives a cheesy taste, soak cashews in water then put them in the food processor to make a spread that can be used in place of mayo. It also makes a great salad dressing. Many wonderful vegan recipes are on the Hallelujah Acres website, hacresdotcom. Many soups, tuna replacement recipes and things like that. Many are raw too and that adds another health benefit. I wish you happiness on your new way of life. I love being a vegan. I was vegetarian for many years and took the final step to vegan a few months ago. I feel great and have incredible energy.

You can follow a diabetic typed diet but still have great taste and flavor, its really simple changes and if you can follow a recipe your food should be really good.

If you need some cookbooks ideas to get started with vegetarian and low-meat cuisine, here’s a brief list of the cookbooks that grace the shelves at our home:

    1) Sundays at Moosewood Restaurant — A wonderful cookbook, jam-packed with all kinds of ethnic recipes.
    2) The New Moosewood Cookbook– One of the original veggie cookbooks and a highly regarded classic.
    3) The New Vegetarian Epicure — An early and influential vegetarian cookbook, in a newly updated edition.
    4) Almost Meatless — An exceptional cookbook centered around low-meat eating.

I'm sure you can find them online......Happy Eating.
