I used to eat them when i was trying to quit smoking and still will occasionally. I didn't really notice anything with regards to my health but, since I've been more health conscious in recent years, I do often eat sunflower seeds as well as sesame snacks or even pepitas. They satisfy the snack craving without loading me up on calories like Oreos and Doritos do.

Yeah, but I usually get the sunflower kernels that are already shelled.  The ones still in the shell are good for when you are outside, as you can spit the hulls out anywhere you like.
Outside of them being high in fiber, protein and mother nature's version of healthy fat, they are also packed with magnesium, which has many health benefits - including a calming of the nerves.

I love sunflower seeds!  A lot of my friends dip tobacco, which is a huge turnoff for me, so when we go to a ball game or are out on the golf course I grab a seeds by the handful and chipmunk until the bag is finished.
