My daughter loves to make chocolate chunk oat cookies. They are very easy to make because you don't have to get them looking perfect. At 12 my daughter can do them on her own, but in this recipe I've also listed jobs for an adult and younger child if making them together.
    This is the recipe: http://melovy.hubpages.com/hub/Kids-Coo … at-Cookies

Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip cookies are our go to rainy afternoon baking activity!  They LOVE helping "clean up."

Try sugar cookies rolled in brightly colored sugar:
    2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1 cup butter, softened
    1 1/2 cups white sugar
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream the butter. Add the sugar and beat well. Add the egg and beat 20 seconds longer. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine. Roll dough into balls. Pour colored sugar onto a plate. Roll the balls in the sugar. Bake at 375 Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes, until golden. The kids will love rolling the dough into balls and rolling the balls in the colored sugar. Enjoy!

Peanut butter, a drop of vanilla and plain old sugar.  Mix together until it is the consistency and taste you like and bake @ 350 for a few minutes. Keep an eye on them so they don't burn.
