I've always enjoyed an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet during Thanksgiving. It's a bit cheesy, but it's ALWAYS a good time.

    Good memories, excellent question.

I like somosas for Thanksgiving.  Since it takes so long to make, it is a special occasion treat.

Cherry pie has always been a favorite in our house. We've also done veggie and dip trays for those who just can't wait til the turkey comes out of the oven.

Pizza!!!  We have bought pizza and one year our power went out due to some kids racing cars.  We made English muffin pizzas out of items we had on hand and grilled them on the grill.  Our kids helped us prepare them and after 8 minutes on the grill we were eating pizza.  We made pepperoni for the kids and a Hawaiian style for myself and my wife.
    English muffins
Sandwich pepperoni or regular pepperoni slices
    Provolone cheese slices
    Ham
    Pineapple chunks or rings
    Real bacon bits
    Spaghettie sauce
    Mozzarella cheese grated or sliced

Heat gas grill or light charcoal grill(I used a charcoal grill).  I lowered my charcoal tray to its lowest setting.
Split English Muffins in half and place on a cookie sheet.
Place a single slice of provolone cheese on each muffin half.
Put a spoonful of spaghetti sauce on top of provolone cheese and spread with spoon.
Put on toppings.  We put pepperoni on the kids pizzas and added a slice of ham, pineapple(we used pineapple tidbits), and bacon pieces on the grownup pizzas and topped both varieties with a bit of mozzerella cheese.
I took the tray out to the grill and placed the pizzas on the grill for eight minutes once the coals were hot. I checked them every two minutes or so to makes sure the bottom of the English muffin was not burning.

I wish I had pictures but, we did this two years ago and did not think to take pictures.

My husband does not like pie, so we have chocolate chip cake for dessert. It is quite yummy! We buy it at the bakery down the street but only once or twice a year for the holidays.
