My favorite cookbook lately is The NO-SALT Cookbook that I found at a charity store. I love to shop there and find some great things. This cookbook helped to lower my blood pressure and has great recipes. Believe it or not, I took it with me to the store to get the ingredients for a recipe, left it there, called the store and it wasn't there. I panicked. I called that store several days later and it was there. Yea!
I wouldn't call it a 'favorite' cookbook; I don't think I really have any, as I'm more of a freelance cook--I just make stuff up according to what we like.
However, as a general reference 'how to' guide, for new things you've never tried cooking before, or for recipe substitutions, you can't beat the old standby, "The Joy of Cooking."
