A search for a Hubber would require less steps. Also, include all the categories under "Scope your search..." in that dropdown box? Less steps for users to take, meaning, a more user-friendly site.
I just click on hubbers (or whatever I'm searching) in the dashboard and enter the name in the search box. it's easier than using the drop box.
Edit: To find specific names, I just type in the search box and click on 'hubbers' when the 'scope your search' option comes. But I see what you mean; yes, I suppose adding more options directly to the drop box would be a good idea too!
it's at the top of every page, right now it says forums with the black arrow pointing down, click on that and it drops down.
it's easier just to click on what you want to search and it auto changes to that search.
When you are in a forum conversation (or anywhere else on HP), the "main search", meaning the one that is in the black area at the top of the page which shows the HubPages logo to the upper left...step to the right-hand side of that black area to see the main search box, which does show "forums". But the only other searches available, when you click the down arrow next to forums are "site" and "more". I'm proposing that this dropdown box include all the categories under "Scope your search...".
rebekahELLE, I don't know what you mean by "it's easier just to click on what you want to search and it auto changes to that search."
to the left of the white search box where all the categories are listed, topics, hubs, answers, hubbers, forums, feed. if you click on hubbers, inside the box with the black arrow next to it, changes to whatever category you clicked on. then you enter the hubbers name or whatever you want to search. sorry if I was unclear. it simply takes you to that page faster.
Thanks for that...I hadn't used that feature of searching for a Hubber under that Hubbers link. But the experience of someone coming on to this site for the first time will be to use the most obvious search option, which is the one at the top of the page. Those "Scope your search" options should be in the dropdown box.

I have seen mixed messages as to whether or not this is legal. Please help me sort this out. Thanks.

I am a new Hubber. How can I search out other new Hubbers? Is there a way to use the search box to find newcomers to HubPages?

So it has been some time since I have been on hub pages and I wanted to share with you how I get traffic to my hubs and build them up in SEO. I did not want to make a hub about this though instead just share it here.As hubbers we all know search engine traffic is what we are all shotting for. Why?...

Something just occured to me, not only are we writers here but we are ALSO CONSUMERS. I see nothing wrong with clicking on a fellow hubbers google ad if it's something we are interested in. I am getting the feeling that some people are afraid to do this for fear of reprisal for being click happy...

Why do some Hubbers include a copyright notice at the bottom of their hub?Is this absolutely necessary to protect your work? Isn't there an implied right once the work has been published? Or is it because some Hubbers may be freelance writers and want the work attributed to them properly?

I will teach anyone, anything they want to know on how to make the best hubs if they can just expain to me what i'm doing wrong that they don't make any money. I'm betting that this is purely a computer knowledge / fill out the right forms / check the right box kinda thing but I have no idea...
