Does anyone know where in scripture that the first reference of the Rapture taking plase is mentioned.
And then; after this is thouraly examined, when is it mentioned again.
I would like to witness an honest conversation taking place on this subject.
1 Corinthians 15: 51, maybe?
I haven't researched this subject, Jerami, so there may be even instances or prophecies as far back as the Old Testament that come before the 1Corinthians ones....
I wasn't thinking about the song nor the movie.
Sorry Jerami... just teasing you!
@21... it was definitely BLONDIE!

Jerami, again, it says many will come to life, which could be a reference to the first resurrection.
Of course there was Enoch and Elijah in the Old Testament, who were "translated" (raptured).....
but you mean the collective "rapture" in the future, correct?
I am talking about what is refered to as the Rapture of the Church.
And the only reference to it in the OT that I am aware of is Daniel 12:1. Is there any other OT references to it ?
Good question Jerami!
How about Isaiah 26:19-21?
I also like Isaiah 27:12-13, which I think is speaking of the "gathering" together of the 144,000, which I believe ties to Matthew 24:30-31.
I think the passage in Matthew 24:30-31 is speaking of the 144,000 which will happen after the "Church" has been Raptured at the 7th Trumpet. The reason I think this is because the passage in Matthew does not speak of "the dead" rising first, as Daniel 12:1-4 and 1 Co 15:51, and 1 Thes 4:14-17 all do! So I think this is speaking of a different "rapture" which occurs after the "Distress of those days", and delivers the 144,000 Jewish "elect" who will all be living at the time. Again, I think Is 27:12-13 speaks to this.
Just some thoughts!
Great topic, I do so love to discuss prophecy and the Rapture! Laurie
I just read Isih 17.. Since this speaks of smiting leviathin in first verse I think this chapter is speaking of the final battle.
In my mind, Daniel 12:1 is definately speaking of those being redemed from among man, that would have to be the same as the 144000 first fruits that are redeamed from among man.
Daniel 12:2 does speak of something similar to a resurection though it is not either of the resurrections spoken of in Rev. 20.
I beleive that these will all be Hebrewa that are caught up in the twinkling of an eye; because scripture says that these are to be Hebrews.
The Church wants to interpret these verses to be speaking of the church being raptured. This is false testamony.
Every verse that I can find specifically refers to these that are "caught up" or redeamed from the living to be Hebrews.
I think that it is of most importance to analize what these verses to be saying. The church is selling this false hope to be caught up to meet Christ in the sky as a recrutement tool.
It just aint going to happen according to what is written is scripture,
When we analize what is written in the book of Daniel that is written that the messenger of God was to have said to Daniel, we see a totally diffrent story than the one preached from the pulpit
The history of the "Rapture of the Church," is directed to the scripture Luke 17:34."I tell you, in that night there shall be two people in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left"
The theory first conceived by John Nelson Darby of the Plymouth Brethren in 1827.

Is there going to be a Rapture? No, there's not. The "Rapture" refers to a passage in First Thessalonians, chapter 4, which talks about Christians being "caught up" in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Many Christians believe, and the "Left Behind" books promote,...

Do you believe in a "Secret Rapture" and if so why?If true that "every eye shell see Him" (speaking of the return of Jesus) how can there be a "Secret Rapture"?

I have a question. I am curious as to how the Church decides as to which timeframes mentioned in prophesy are to be understood as prophetic time (a day = a year) and when a day = a day. I would think that when discused in prophesy there would be a constant??? The Church says...

Just a question for those Christians who profess to believe that the Bible is the literal and unalterable word of God; how do you justify the removal of the books of Baruch, Wisdom, Tobit, Ruth, Judith, 1 Maccabees & 2 Macabees during the 16th century?
