I have fluid in my lungs and a fever as well as nausea. I studied biology in college so I don't need to know WHAT it is I have, but some very cheap, non-doctor visit solutions. Let me know if you have anything to treat either bronchitis or pneumonia.

Well, first off my freind, you know you have my prayers.

Secondly.  With any respratory anything, I've had hot liquids work extremely well. Tea, beef or chicken broth (real is better, bullion will do).  I also drink a lot of the Celestial Seaonings Ecanacia Complete Care tea ... I drink a cup of that whether I need it or not every three or four days.

Plenty of water is always a good thing.

High quality colidial silver is not cheap, but it's cheaper than a doctor. Dont' get GNC, that's worthless.

At night.  Brew a cup of earl gray tea, put in a healthy does of lemon or orange juice, and about half a shot to a shot of Jack Daniels.  I don't know if it will help or not, but after two or three, you won't really care wink ... seriously that has helped me sleep and I do seem to get better. No more than two, though. The alcohol drys you up.

P.S. Julianna's a nurse, so she knows more than me wink

I have had bouts of Bronchitis and it isn't that fun!  Get some water is the biggest pot you have and boil it on the stove to put moisture into the air or get a vaporizer and have it on high!  That will break up some of the phlegm.  Do wht is said here too!  I don't have colloidal Silver but heard that it works for humans and animals alike!  Get pletny of rest and try to sit up in a reliner so the congestion lessens.  If you are like me you wil have that cough like forever--months before it really s gone!  If you notice any blood in your tissues from blowing your nose of coughing please do no delay and go to a DR immediately!!  They can d a re-payment program with you.  I have no insurance and really don't want too---it is a scam!

        Good Luck!

Surely I agree with most the hubbers, go see a doctor.  If it is insurance that is keeping you from getting there, F"um- just go!  You have my prayers also.

But if you are possitive it is just bronchitis then I suggest the same, quite smoking for a little, make yourself warm.  Hot baths with a lot of steam to break up the congestions, tea and honey or other hot liquids to help you "feel" better and a remote for the tv. smile

If it hurts in your chest though, you might have something else.  smile  Take it easy, get a bell and let your wife be your slave for a little.  lol.

Bronchitis always makes my chest hurt, but this is relatively mild compared to usual. I have a hard timer breathing when I'm sleeping and not using an inhaler. I've been doing some home-remmedies that should make it easier to get over soon.

The lastt ime I had Bronchitis I coughed once and something loosened up in my chest........then Icould not breath becasue it felt like I was breathing in fire--litterally fire.  I was take to the clinic and all he did was give me cough syrup with codeine in it.  That was all.  It stopped the fire and put me out for hours!
So yes your chest could hurt and it just be something that you have to let nature take care of.
I do hope that you feel better soon.  Bronchitis is the pits!!

t.keeley, Pneumoina isn't anything to mess with so my recommendation is to get to a clinic or urgent care and have it properly treated. People die every year from Pneumonia and we would like to see you around in 2009. smile Please go to a DR. and try not to use anything over the counter.

First, you should really go to the doctor.  However, since I've had a piece of glass in my foot for about 4 months now and still cannot afford to get it taken out, who am I to talk?  If you're a smoker and you have bronchitis, try to cut down until you're better.  Avoid milk and dairy products until you're better, (they cause more congestion,) and get some lemons, tea, and honey.  Hot tea can really help loosen the gunk up.  An expectorant, (not a suppressant,) cough syrup can help, too.  Tylenol for your fever, of course.  Get lot's of rest.  Garlic when your stomach can handle it, chopped up into some thick chicken noodle soup.  Pile on the blankets when you're sleeping to "sweat" your fever out.  Hope any of these things can help.

I'm pretty sure it's just bronchitis. I get it at least once a year and I usually just make due til it's over, even if it feels like it'll kill me...hot tea seems to be the easiest thing for me to use and possibly the most effective, so we'll see how that works. I've cut smoking out entirely until I'm recovered.

I hope later on tonight to join you in the fight against cigarettes.  I am quitting smoking as soon as my man buys me some nicotine gum.  Congratulations on stopping smoking, even if it is just a temporary thing.

P.S.  Hope you feel better soon.

Hi TK - wondered where you were! Sorry to hear you're ill - I'll be a bore and repeat what the others said - please do go see a doctor. And I do hope you get well soon and have a great Christmas and New Year!

Thanks Shalini, but it's Saturday now and, with lots of Zinc/Vitamin C and some Nyquil/Dayquil combos made a successful week. I feel better, and the more I simply just relax and not get stressed the less my bronchial tubes are irritated. No doctors involved either, and I went two whole days without a single cigar.

I for one am not a Dr. and am not going to practice medicine without a medical license. I don't think anyone else should either. Same thing with giving out legal advice, one can get into big trouble. Go to an M.D.

C.C. You are correct however some of our wonderful writers on here are also attorneys and some of the ones giving advice are DR's as for me I am just a nurse who always recommends that they see a DR. I am however attending school so that I can be a DR. I will be so happy when that day comes. but in the meantime, I love the RN thing so your advise is correct!!smile
