Do you think Twitter Promotion will bring traffic?

   Do you think posting links on twitter will help you to drive traffic to your hubs? I dont think so, because many of the tweeters are using to promote their stuff and not for sharing their thoughts. They all will be in the rush to promote theirs and will not click on the links thats tweeted.

      The trick is not to drive traffic but to draw it.  I use twitter to pormote major posts on one of my blogs.  People interested in that topic do follow the feed and do visit the blog.  But it is because they want the information, not because I am randomly promoting everything I do at them.

      Twitter has the potential to bring traffic to your hub.
      It is only a tool and the traffic you get through it (or through any other tool, for that matter) depends on the health and strength of your network.
      
      If your network is a group of like-minded people or people who are interested in what you are writing about, you will definitely get good traffic from Twitter.

      I got my website to No 1 on google no1 on yahoo and no 1 on bing they may be a few places down now as i have not looked lately but twitter does work ps i have not used twitter for four months now and my website is still near the top, I also have tweet adder but do not use it as it is very impersonal and the emails will flood you out.  If you are going to use it at all get the url shorten er and write funny and  and punchy stuff.
      ps i had to type solid for one month to do that, if you do search for smg design it should still be around the top of the searches.
      pps they said my twitter profile was worth 2,500 bucks but no one offered me that for it ha ha

   I get a few visitors from twitter. The key is to use hashtags so that when someone searches on that subject it will come up.
   
   For example, if I have a hub on music I put #music after my link, or a hub on environmental topics I put #green or #enviro.

      did you wait until you had a large collection before joining twitter?  Is twitter via phone only (with phone charges) or can it be done ?using internet?

   It does - I Tweet Hubs and Hubs of others on Twitter but not to the point where it gets on people's nerves.
   
   It's nice to Tweet in between and be social, but it does bring traffic. Sometimes I schedule them on Hootsuite to Tweet maybe 6 Hubs. One in every hour or One every two hours.

   From time to time, I send tweets out regarding my hubs, but don't do it too regularly. However, I do get a little bit of traffic to my life hubs.

   Twitter is good for getting your hubs indexed quickly as the googlebots live on there.
   
   Not sure twitter traffic buys things or clicks on ads though

   Twitter does bring in traffic, but I tend to think that users are tech savvy therefore have 'ad blindness' whereby they never convert to clicks . . .

   I think it will because microblogging is all the rage now especially among young people. Twitter seems to have evolved into more than just a social comment network. Real relationships are being formed and built. cheers. Amanda. (Australia).

    i've been using twitter since 2006.  i have built up a strong 10k of followers in that time about technology and my blog - http://blog.me.dm has over 100k nearly of visitors in three months so i'm really pleased about the progress of that.  i've just discovered hubpages and i'm keen to start blogging more using posterous and hubpages. 
    
    i love posterous for autoposting to all my sites around the web and now that i have found hubpages am hoping that i can make some small amounts of money from adwords each month just to pay a few of my hosting bills.
