Getting Comments?

   Hi Everyone
   I guess it's not only my problem but for some other hubbers too, how do you encourage visitors to leave a comment on your Hub, or give some sort of feedback.
   
   I am getting some traffic to my Hubs, but for some reason I am still not receiving any constructive feedback, either good or bad.
   Any suggestions for improving this would be appreciated.

      How much traffic are you getting? Unless you've turned off your accolades you haven't had over 1000 visits yet. It took me a few thousand before I started getting comments regularly. Now I'm up to 60,000 traffic and 300~ comments.
      
      My best advice would be - don't worry about hub/profilescore (unless it gets really low which won't happen unless you write low quality content), don't worry about comments or traffic, just keep writing. Once you hit 30 hubs, then you can start worrying - although by then you probably won't have to.

         Thanks for your advice, at the moment I have had about 300 visitors to my hubs, so no accolades yet.  I guess I have been a little impatient, expecting too much. Long way too go, I see, to pass 1000 mark or even approach your success, but I will take your advice and keep writing.

      If I had any interest in golf, I'd probably think that was a great hub.  I'd probably pass it on to my golfing buddies and might even link to it from something I wrote about golf. 
      
      But I don't golf, so I'm assuming all that.  If I really knew anything about golf, I might have different comments.
      
      My point is that it is a very targeted audience.  That's a good thing, not a bad thing, but it means it will take time for your audience to find you even if you do have good content.   
      
      Keep writing about golf and interlinking the articles when and where appropriate and you WILL get traffic and comments and links.

         Yes it is targeted at a specific interest group and you do really want to be 'into' golf,  it is a fairly competitive niche, so as you say, it will take time.  Thankyou for your words of encouragement, and for taking the time.

   I think that you have to read other hubs and leave comments for them ...  It is good to be active in the forums, I follow a lot of people from the forums. 
   
   You find hubbers you like and you follow them.   The actual number of followers may not be too important.   I would not worry about it too much.   
   
   Your hub is good quality.   It has a targeted audience that has not discovered it yet.   In time it will gain readers and comments.

      I am spending a lot of time on Hubpages doing exactly as you suggest, kind of addicted to Hubpages now. (daily)

         Charlotte click "My Account" up the top and you'll see a list of all your hubs along with how much traffic they have got for the day/week/month. Just remember that your own views also count as traffic.

   I've only been on HubPages for a week but I am already seeing the benefits of being active on the forum. People often check out your profile and have a look at your hubs, especially if you post in topics which are to do with issues with increasing traffic or in your case, getting comments. I wish you the best of luck in your hubbing

   I have reviewed your hub, and must ask a very important question......What is your intention for being on HubPages?
   
   Meaning, are you writing to write or are you writing to make money?
   
   The distinction between the two makes all the difference in the world, because the level of advice you get will vary between hub writers.
   
   If you're writing to write, then I would suggest you can leave the hub pretty much as it is now.
   
   If you're writing to make money, then you will want to make a few adjustments to your hub.

   My next suggest is more reading as well, but more so guided toward learning about HubPages, which Darkside covers extremely well in his hubs, which are listed below.

         My comment which you posted to was for the person who opened this thread, which wasn't you. However, you could still benefit from reading the Darkside and Frogdropping hubs, because they are both great writers, even if you're not writing for money.
         
         I came to this thread to help the person who opened it. I did post a comment on your hub that you wrote and I was a bit long winded, and even asked you the same question I asked the OP.
         
         I'm glad you've made a decision on your intentions here, however, do not dismiss the potential at your fingertips. Keep your options open.

      Thankyou for Your response it  is very welcome and appreciated. I initially came to Hubpages to gain backlinks to my other sites and hopefully to earn a quid in the process.
      But, I have enjoyed my involvement in Hubpages so much, that I am doing it for the writing experience as well now. My first few Hubs were somewhat  amateurish of course, but as I adjusted to the process, I am more concerned now about getting things right and aiming for quality hubs.
      I am following Marisa Wright, Darkside and Sunforger already and have learnt a lot from them. I am following you now as well.
      I fully intend to review each hub you have suggested and continue to read more great hubs here.

      I am of course wanting traffic as well, and lots of it, a few comments here and there doesn't hurt either.

   My experience coming to HP was that I just didn't know what to expect. I wrote a few hubs and thought I was a failure. But then several months went by, and Google indexed my hubs and my traffic started picking up. One article was discovered by Associated Press and was used as the premise for an article about hackers and released across the US. I was STUNNED and couldn't have expected that!
   
   So you never know. But a well written hub with pictures and good information will out live the bad, poorly written, spammy ones 10 to 1.
   
   I have a collection of hubs on various subjects, and some do very well and some don't. But the experiment pays off. I've learned alot about what makes good internet writing, and much more. And that's pretty good for a guy who usually speaks in music notation.

      Congratulations on that article, very impressive. I am learning so much here from all the expert contributors on how to write better quality hubs, and I am also learning that patience is indeed a  virtue.
      So, I will not be overly concerned about getting comments or feedback, which I am sure will come, but focus instead on writing well and let things take their course.

   I am new here.  But I think getting reviews is part of joining discussions and getting yourself out there.  And I don't mean spamming or dropping off a link to your Hub page all over the place.  That what I think and that's why I am out here learning and trying to make new friends.
