I promised my 90 year old landlord (who doesn't particularly believe in reincarnation) that in the next life, if we meet again, we'd have to go to Spain together. This is after he made a comment about how much he'd like to have seen Madrid.
I think we always have a second chance to do the "one thing" we know we can't do in this lifetime. What would you do? What experience would you share with someone who might be out of reach in this lifetime?
Well Klara, I think I would like to visit the 1920's speak easys and the charleston. I loved the cloths and hairstyles.
Teri
wooohoooo! And I'll be the flapper playing the piano in Alexander's Ragtime Band!
So cool, there are so many wonderful lives to live...hope my Karma doesn't hold me back.
Nah! It won't!
But imagine the possibilities! You'll be able to tell that impossible love - "Ok, fine. Next time we'll be together." Can you imagine?! lol You make an appointment a hundred years in advanced.
I'm curious to see if people will return to wearing more comfortable clothing...you know, greek and Roman robes. The fact that everyday wear has become increasingly more confining is interesting.
Will thongs ever go out of style?
I just wrote a "hub" on the subject: "reincarnation."
Wanna check it out?
http://hubpages.com/hub/qwark98
yer probably gonna hate me if ya read it...lol
I know, I'm a party pooper!
Read it, but in my opinion you don't have enough understanding of how reincarnation is believed to take place, hence all your unanswered questions.
For example, yes - you have choices up to a certain point, but reincarnation doesn't happen once or twice, it's supposed to happen countless times. It's also a purifying process where the soul goes from primitive to highly evolved. It goes along with evolution if you can manage to visualize such thing! lol
I'm not one to tell you "I'm right and You are wrong" because I only believe in this concept because it makes sense to me personally, much more than just believing that we are born, live and die without any purpose to it all. But I do respect your point of view and don't find it offensive in the least. I will never hate you, qwark.
He did have one good point, about the soul moving on to another dimension...possible. People to often assume the universe obeys their preconceptions.
The only way they would consider any other possibility is if the f&^@# fact hits them in the face.
But reincarnation in this planet is just but one of the many steps a soul must climb in order to gain complete enlightenment. As goofy as it may sound - there are many things happening in other dimensions that we are unaware of. Some seekers tap into them and share their perspective with us but we can't know for sure.
Doesn't sound goofy at all, in fact the other dimensions and planes would explain many of the questions asked by both Christian and Atheists.
TY Klara: I respect your response and your belief.
Of course, to me, reincarnation, is on the opposite end of the "reality" continuum.
If you responded to the "hub," I will read it before I continue.
I was only kidding when I said you'd hate me. I've read your remarks and I find no "hate" in them or you.
Thanks for a thoughtful response...:-)
I'm sure I have to be careful just wearing my T-shirts. I think in the future clothing will be more comfortable.
If I was reincarnated I would love to come back as a bird so I could have total freedom and see the world and bring peace and harmony with my song.
Sorry, I'm with your landlord, don't believe in reincarnation. I think it's just something people choose to believe so they have an excuse, maybe, to justify not having lived the life they thought they would have. Saying oh well, maybe next time.
We have one life, make the most of it, now! What if you are wrong, you've just wasted what real time you do have in this life, worrying or dreaming of the next, you can't make that time up again, it's gone, no more chances. We each have a purpose, a reason for existing, everyone searches for that at sometime in their life, but, ultimately, there can only be 'one' truth, regardless of what we believe. Anyway, my two bobs worth.
What makes you think we aren't living life? I'm happy my father owns one of the largest furniture companies in the midsouth. I have friends and family, I travel, I have a wonderful relationship...what makes you think we don't live life?
Your beliefs are absurd therefore you aren't living life.
Well excuse me for having an opinion. I think the idea of reincarnation, is absurd. I didn't say you were not living life, or that you didn't have a life. I was merely expressing my thoughts.
I'm sorry, of course your thoughts are okay, it's just the broad terms you use..."people choose to believe"..."What if you are wrong, you've just wasted what real time you do have in this life," These generalizations can be used by anyone that believes something different.
As Klara said IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN. - k
Thanks
Teri
Hi Teri, It's ok, no harm done, you are right. IF it were to happen, I would return as below.
Ross, this post wasn't meant to discuss reincarnation. I'm saying - IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN - what would you like to do? Would you chose a different place to be born? Would you give someone else a chance for a relationship? I know it might not be something you believe in, but just for the sake of DREAMING, enlighten us with your creative answer?
Hello klarawieck, it's nice to see you. I have few regrets, but one that has bothered me and I would like to change, perhaps come back, and redo, would be a second chance at being a better father to my sons than I was the first time around. Yeah, I know , soft, and not much of an imagination. But that is what I would wish, oh, and try to avoid meeting my current missus.
I would like to come back as the babied house dog. Let some one else be responsible. I'll just play, eat and sleep with no worries or concerns.
Aside from being a porn star, I would like to come back as my evil twin brother and cause some mayhem in our town!!
calpol, I just read one of your hubs about the horrifying abuse against disabled jews. It just happens that my landlord, whom I mention above, was in Northern France and Germany killing nazzis in 1940. Our conversation about visiting Spain came about after he mentioned seeing so many places in Europe while he was in the Army but regretting missing Spain altogether. Weird that I just ran into your hub. Since he is so close to the end of his lifetime due to health problems and old age, I threw the idea of "going together to Spain in the next lifetime" He smiled and asked me "Do you believe in Reincarnation?" I said yes, and then he said "I like the way you think!"
How adorable! I might be totally off believing in reincarnation but I think if it gives hope and peace to a dying man, it is worth considering it.
Klara: What about the possibility of being reincarnated into one of the 11 dimensions of TOE?
Wouldn't that be a "possibility?"
If reincarenation happens, why reincarnate into a mortal form?
What would be the reason to want to die again and again be reincarnated? Why not choose Immortality?
Fun subject...:-)
I'm open to all possibilities. Anyways, do share... what would you do while in this 11 dimensions of TOE?
Kara: if reincarnation existed, there would be no limitations of choice in a dynamic universe alive and fluxing with 11 dimensions of possibilities!
If I could be reincarnated, my "soul" would travel through every potential before I chose again to do it. Or hey, why not just remain as an itinerant "soul" enjoying the trip?
So many questions...:-)
Well, we don't always get to do what we want. Isn't that true?
Klara: who is to control the choice of an "itinerant" metaphysical entity i.e. a soul?...:-)
Qwark your atheism is showing...bad qwark.
Ah but Luv, I'm not an atheist! There is no such thing.
I am just a seeker of input and somewhat of a 'hedonist."
As I get older and older, I pursue my greatest desire i.e pleasure. :-)
Hmm...you're not huh, who are the real atheists on hubpages.
I'd really like to be a monk. I like the idea of a life devoted to one belief, one calm, peaceful community of like-minded souls with the rhythms of the day devoted to a religious purpose. It would be a step up, if you get my meaning, from the life I've lived so far this time.
I also wonder if I'd come back to Earth or somewhere else. What would somewhere else in the universe be like? What would that life be like?
I'm coming back as a very pampered cat, and I'm going to sleep in the sun all day and be fed on demand. Heaven!
I was going to say that, but you got in there just before me
In Your Next Reincarnation, What Would You Like To Do?
There is no "Reincarnation"; so there is no choice to do anything. Reincarnation is a myth only.
Hey Paar,
Did you NOT read the thread? If you don't believe, it is fine, but "suppose" it to be true......think up something you would WANT to do.
It wasn't up for debate.
Next time, try reading the thread first.
I have no idea what I'd like to do. There are so many things I can't begin to list, but I do know in my next life, I want to be a MAN!
Aren't you already? Human is both male and female.
After four glasses of wine, quarks' 11 dimensions of TOE are not only making sense, but they are starting to sound pretty good to me!

Do you believe in the Summerland or something similar such as Tir Na Nog or Heaven, etc.? Do you also believe in reincarnation or a recycling of energy? What do you, as a Pagan, believe in as far as life after death? For me, I am a believer in the Summerland (I also refer to it as Tir Na Nog from...

Do we pray to God simply for our 'birth reservation' for our next life?Is it true that those 'lucky' ones born in affluent societies pray to God for making sure that they are reborn as affluent again in their next life, and those 'not-so-lucky' ones born in 'lower' societies pray to God for making...

If you believe in reincarnation, what would you reincarnate to?I know I would pick something that could fly. I would love to just fly above everything else, have it be a natural activity. Though, not as a bug. Probably a bird.
