I'm not sure if what I did was right in the first place but I got so sick of someone asking me to visit his hub by posting only links in the comment box of my hub I finally decided to delete one forever.(There was no comment on the MY hub)
Has anyone had this dilemma? What did you do?
Uma, I almost never allow links to be posted in comments of hubs. I think there has been one instance of me allowing one, which ultimately produced legitimate traffic for both of us, and we actually corresponded about it before I allowed it.
You don't have to put up with this spamming, my friend. No worries about it. Just hit "delete" and be well.
Simply denied the comment if someone post links in hubs.
Uma - it's your hub, you can delete any comment that you want to delete. If someone is just spamming, get rid of them. This may deter them from that obnoxious practice. I've also had comments that made no sense at all.
I quite often delete comments or at the least not approve them - it's fine and you spent time making that hub so you can choose what comments you want to appear.
However I do approve about 95% of my comments. If someone leaves a really good comment with a link I normally leave it. Sometimes I copy what they said and approve it without the link as well.
Don't feel bad about it though!
I agree with Dolores, it's your hub. If you feel you were being harassed, you have every right to protect yourself.
Unlike household junk, such comments do have zero value to you and others as well, so don't feel bad about getting rid of them.
As the other have said, all this is your prerogative.
Even putting up the comment box in the first place, as you could have totally closed that option. In my mind, it is more of a privilege to be able to leave a comment on anybody's hub.
And besides you'd know in your heart if a comment was left in good faith or not, so nothing to dwell about it.

Did you ever deny a comment or two from your hub? And if yes, why?

What's the point in having a comment box if the particular hubber denies every comment posted on the hub?I noticed a comment on a hub, so I read it. It wasn't a bad comment at all, just something that I would see why the hubber wouldn't want it on the hub. IE it was opposite of which he's trying to...

Is it ever justified to delete reader comments?Do you ever delete comments on your Hubpages? Sometimes we get inappropriate or over promoting comments on our hubs, how do you handle the situation?

Do you delete hub comments that are very generic if it appears the commenter hasn't read the hub?I notice my more popular hubs will get comments left that are just generic like "this was great thanks". I have started deleting these comments because they don't add anything meaningful...

Normally, I approve 99% of all comments left on my hubs. But twice today, and once yesterday, there were comments left, all by "anonymous," that I simply denied because they were just way out of line. Not demeaning, offensive, hateful, or anything like that...just WAY off topic.In...

Do you always leave a comment if you read a hub?I have followers whom I've never seen in the comments sections and just wondered what other hubbers think about the comments in general. Do you leave comments when you read? Sometimes? Always? Never? Please give your reasons with...
